Clarinda Lin graduated from Montclair State University in Bachelor degree studying music composition and piano. She was a diligent student graduating with a Summa Cum Laude Honor, and winning "Outstanding Undergraduate Composer Award" from the Montclair State University. She studied piano from Dr. Joanna Polk, Dr. Magdalena Baczewska, and Dr. Mark Pakman. And she studied music composition from Dr. Ting Ho, Dr. Scott Richards, and Dr. Elisabeth Brown. Her first choir piece "Peace is like a calm flowing river" won her shortlisted in the chorale competition of MSU in 2013. And her second chorale piece "Ubi Caritas" also won her third place in the chorale competition of MSU in 2014. Dr. Gerald Custer, one of the judges of the competition, commented on her piece "Ubi Caritas": "This is a well-conceived, lovely setting of the text, in a nicely neo-romantic (almost commercially popular, John Williams-ish or Andrew Lloyd Webber-ish) style, and...very singable." Clarinda's third choir piece "Sense" using Helen Keller's words as the lyrics, again shortlisted her in the chorale competition of MSU in 2015.
Clarinda's composition "A False Note" scoring in flute, trumpet, violin, and cello won her the College Division Grand Prize Winner of the PICTURES Composition Contest held by New Jersey Art Collective. Clarinda uses computer software (i.e. ProTools, Logic Pro, Reason and Ableton Live) to generate electronic music. She arranged Little Mermaid's "Under the Sea" in four string parts for some elementary school students.
She also arranged Taipei First Girl's Anthem and re-titled the piece "The Sound of the Reunion" in SSA chorale score for Taipei First Girl's 30 years reunion. It was premiered in Dec. 2016. at Taipei, Taiwan.

Clarinda teaches private piano lessons and music theory. She especially focuses on using the right way to play the piano to avoid injury. She also emphasized on the balance of musical and technical development of performance. Her students all received the highest awards (Outstanding award) from the MEA. She helps students to prepare ABRSM piano and theory test from grade 1-8 as well. Additionally, she sent students to piano competitions. Many students got first places.
